If We Were Here Tomorrow is crashing at launch, during cutscenes, or during normal gameplay, Total Mayhem Games’ support guide recommends starting with these common fixes. As of 2026-10-14, the official Steam page shows the full game as not yet available with a planned release date of Oct 20, 2026; the support guide also includes a separate demo-specific section.

Common crash fixes

  • Make sure your PC meets the minimum requirements and is not using an integrated GPU. The official Steam page lists minimum specs as Windows 11, Ryzen 5 3600 or equivalent, GTX 1660 Ti 6GB or equivalent, 8GB RAM, DirectX 12, and 25GB storage.
  • Update your graphics card drivers.
  • Turn off VSync in your GPU dashboard and in-game settings. If crashes prevent you from opening settings, the support page says you can manually change it in the config file location C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\We Were Here Tomorrow Demo\We Were Here Tomorrow_Data\StreamingAssets.
  • Make sure your system time is set correctly to your timezone.
  • Try DirectX 11 instead of the default DirectX 12. If the launcher does not show a pop-up, add -force-d3d11 in Steam by right-clicking the game > Properties > General > Launch Options. Remove it if it does not help.
  • Start the game as administrator.
  • Verify Steam or Epic integrity files.
  • Unplug unnecessary USB devices and disable overlays or background software that may interfere.
  • Avoid public networks such as campus or library networks, because their protections may block voice servers.

Demo-specific crash fixes

The official support page adds these steps for the We Were Here Tomorrow Demo:

  • Turn off overlays from Discord, Steam, MSI Afterburner, or similar programs before starting.
  • Perform a clean GPU driver install, using the “clean install” option or DDU.
  • Reset GPU overclocking/control-panel changes. On laptops, make sure Unity uses the dedicated GPU, especially when unplugged.
  • Clear shader cache folders under %LOCALAPPDATA%\AMD, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Intel\ShaderCache, %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache, %LOCALAPPDATA%\D3DSCache, and %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\shadercache.
  • Install the latest operating system updates.
  • Run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth from an Administrator Command Prompt.
  • Restart your computer after trying the steps.
